The Folder
This adorable creation was featured in one of my last classes. It was a beautiful hit! We made the Card Fold and a total of 4 cards, two of each design. The Perennial Lavender DSP is so beautiful and full of color.
The picture above shows the folder opened with the cards inside and what it looks like closed. We used almost everything in the Perennial Lavender Suite.
To make the folder it takes one full size, 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock. You will score the 11″ side (the long side) at 5 1/2″. It is basically folding the cardstock in half. Then you turn your cardstock to the 5 1/2″ side (the short side) and score at 2″.
Now when you fold the cardstock completely, I found that I needed to cut a sliver off each flap, in the middle, at the 2″ mark (in the middle) for it to close nicely.
I then proceeded with decorating the folder first. I left a bigger border on the folder to spot light the Lavender DSP and coordinating colors. I then adhered my ribbon with glue dots. So simple!
The Cards!!
Oh my gosh they turned out so adorable! Take a look ⬇️
We made two of each card. As I mentioned above we used almost everything in the Suite plus other items. Here is a peek inside of the cards. You always have to decorate the inside!
If the gift set and cards above do not spark interest for your here are some more creative tips and ideas for using the Perennial Lavender Suite to help you get started on your crafting journey with the Perennial Lavender Suite.
- Create a stunning floral-themed card by stamping the lavender images onto white cardstock, then coloring them with markers or watercolors. Add dimension by die-cutting additional layers of flowers and adhering them with adhesive.
- Experiment with different color combinations to customize your projects to suit any occasion or season. Did you know that on the back of the DSP paper pack there is a list of all the coordinating cardstock so it makes it easy to mix and match all the different colors of cardstock.
- Incorporate the Perennial Lavender Suite into your home decor by creating framed art pieces, decorative banners, or floral wreaths. These handmade accents will add a touch of elegance to any room and make lovely gifts for friends and family.
