Baby Wipe Technique

Using Baby Wipes, really?

Yes! Using Baby Wipes is really fun and it gives your project a unique look. It is a lot of fun too! What’s nice is you can pick up baby wipes at any dollar store and you can make your own color combinations. I would also like to introduce you to the new Share a Milkshake Bundle. This set is new and appears in our new Spring Mini Catalog.

Baby Wipes

Take one baby wipe from the package and fold it in half and then in half again. You will need a hard surface that can handle moisture. I used a clear acrylic block. You then place the baby wipe on what surface you choose.

Re Inkers

Now it is time to pick what colors you want. The colors I chose were Parakeet Party, Mango Melody & Melon Mambo. I wanted a “rainbow” of color for my ice cream. You then drop 2-3 drops of each color onto the baby wipe. I wanted a more random look for the colors so I just staggered the colors. The baby wipe has now become your ink pad.

Baby Wipe Technique

Take your stamp and place it onto the baby wipe. When inking the stamp, you will want to tap it around a little bit to “blend” the colors.

Then you stamp your image on cardstock. See below. I love how my ice creams turned out! Bright and a rainbow of color.

Finishing Up

Next, I want to bring your attention to the top and bottom of my finished card and also the inside of the card. Notice how it has that random, rainbow, texture? It looks like paint splatter to me so that is what we will call it. So how did I get that?

Baby Wipe Technique

I folded the baby wipe two more times with the color on the outside and I used it to “splatter” ink on the card. I just “bounced” the baby wipe up and down on the cardstock to get that unique look. You can do it as many times as you would like. It just depends on how heavy you want the ink to look.

Baby Wipe Technique

I used post it notes on the front base & on the inside of the card so I wouldn’t get the ink all over. Wala! A unique fun look has been created.

I finished up the card by embellishing the front with some DSP, rhinestones, white organdy ribbon & the sentiment. Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card and last but not least I splattered the flaps of my envelopes. I just love how the colors turned out I didn’t want my baby wipe to go to waste.
